Why I will always use a paper planner

A decade into the twenty-first century, technology is advancing at an amazing rate. My new phone has Internet, maps, GPS navigation that doesn’t give me lip if I choose not to follow directions, and much more, including planner apps. Awesomely cool, yes? NO!

While it is convenient to have to-do lists and schedules in tiny, portable form it is not fulfilling. While I am almost proficient at thumb-typing, deleting and editing is stressful and definitely not satisfying. I love my handwritten words and the feel of paper under pen.

My Daysteps planner is a full page, making it simple to see my full month or week at a glance. My to-do lists are triumphantly scratched off task by task, rather than painstakingly edited down to nothing as if they never existed. (Where’s the reward in that!?)

Ask those who know me and they will confirm that I love the Internet, Websites, and practically anything virtual. But not everything translates well into editable bits and bytes. My personal planner is one of those. Thank you, but no, I’ll keep my Daysteps.
