Negative Thought Cycle

Buy into the concept that negative thoughts usually bring more negative thoughts, and you can get yourself pretty worked up in a short amount of time. Stop the cycle as soon as you can and think of something happy (even if it is really tiny) that changes your mood. Chances are, if you keep it up, you can get out of your slump before it ruins a good portion of your day.

Realizing that you’re in the downward spiral is the first step! Having a printout of a couple positive affirmations posted by your desk can help snap you out of it when you are stuck in those negative thoughts! Make the list - maybe some achievements you’re proud of, or some things you’re great at - on a day when you feel good about yourself and you’ll have something to pull you up when you need it!

Thanks for those thoughts, Jessica! Great idea to have the “tools” near you to help pull yourself out of that spiral. :-)
