Calorie Creep

As I was rereading the post about calories burned I couldn’t help thinking how much I LOVE food. I have to keep an eye on what I eat now matter how much or what kind of exercise I get or I will still gain fat. This is because my natural tendency is to eat a little more than I need each day. Burn an extra 500 calories, eat that many more unless I’m careful. Did you know that if you eat only 100 calories more than you need a day, that translates into 10 pounds each year?! The math: (100 *365 days in a year) = 36,500 Divide by 3,500 calories per pound = 10.4 pounds Who would guess that 10 M&M’s a day can lead to 10 pounds a year? The lesson here is to stay healthy we really do need to pay attention to both exercise and the food we eat.
